This is so great, I just had to post it. I’ve been chatting with my roommate about how the “Gold” standard of Pop/Rap music is these f*cking vocalist using Melodyne or a vocoder and that the effect has now become the sound that people recognize and buy. It blows me away that people want to listen to junk like this. Don’t they realize it’s a mask for artist’s that can’t hold key? On the other hand, I’m all about technology and what you can do with it, but it still bugs the shit out of me that artists like T-Pain make this “their” sound.
